Fishermen find suspected torpedo
20 April 2012 | Scotland UK
A fishing vessel has pulled up a suspected torpedo in its nets.
The crew alerted Clyde Coastguard when they discovered the 10-12 foot long
device around two miles off Troon in Ayrshire at around 9.30pm last night.
Coastguards contacted bomb disposal experts for advice and then told the crew to put the torpedo back overboard and mark the location with a buoy.
The Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team from Faslane will go out to deal with it today.
