Yeah they're expensive as hell. Also looks like they're cool as shit to pop off. Look at it this way, Hadjis are dead, IED munitions are mellow. Sounds like two birds with one stone to me.

No need to go over the top here. No life and death but rather more cheaper solutions. USA has plenty of different guided rockets with lover price point.

I'm not gonna be putting price tag on any one, i also have friends in not so special places. That "I feel offended" stuff you can safe for yourself.

Javelin is also a direct guided system, in other words you need to see your enemy.

Older systems will do just as fine.

A $200 IED can costs millions if it kills and maims our boys.

It can ruin lives, not only of those injured horribly, but of their fathers, mothers, sons and daughters.

A friend of mine is still in hospital in London battling wounds he got three years ago. Care to put a price on that?

Someone may be able to put a price on death and injury of our forces, I can't. But I can assure you it would be a whole lot more than 40,000 bucks.

Terminate with extreme prejudice.

Agreed Bigfoot13, that was well worth it! I get what you mean MadeInRu some times you see a vid where a less expensive weapon could possibly do the trick but at the same time every weapon has its own effect not only on the intended target but after effects as well.

That price dont compare to loss of U.S. Personnel nor civilian casualties in my book. Well spent $$

One thing that i don't like about Javelin, is the price of 1 rocket.

40.000 $ is an expensive hobby to destroy a 200 $ IED.

2 New Zealand Soldiers have been killed and 6 wounded in Afghanistan. Two soldiers from the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) were killed and another six were wounded, three with serious injuries. The Soldiers were rushing to the aid of local defence forces who were engaged in a battle with the taliban. The attack occurred yesterday morning in Do Abe, around 7pm New Zealand time, after an Afghan police unit moved to arrest an insurgent in the area, Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General Rhys Jones said. "They were ambushed by insurgents and had two killed and seven injured. "They requested the help of our PRT to help stabilise the situation and help evacuate out the dead and wounded people," Jones said. The PRT sent patrols into the region, who assisted in putting suppressive fire down on where the insurgents remained in buildings. "Our patrols then moved to secure the area around it, and that's when we came under fire by a separate group of insurgents." Jones said the fatalities occurred within two to three minutes of fire. The announcement today brings the total number of New Zealand soldier fatalities in Afghanistan to seven. A very sad day for our Kiwi cousins, our thoughts are with you.

Guys got under a lot of fire and called for re-inforcements which comes via air cavalry - the sweet sound of a blackhawk.
