Description
This was the last demo flight of the F-14 Tomcat at Oceania Air show in 2005. I do not think this was ever posted before, they push her to her limits. I have seen the tomcat in demo flights on clear days with no wind. I have seen it fly at least 3 times but never pushed like this Enjoy

They weren't pushing it. A big beast of a plane, and amazing to see what one could really do. If you are one of us lucky enough to geta show out to sea, the Tomcat is capable of much tighter maneuvering than could be shown at a CONUS airshow. My old Bluejackets Manual (equivalent to the Handbook for Marines), listed Tomcats at max catapult weight of 70,000 lbs. For such a large, heavy fighter, amazingly nimble. Not an F-16 mind you, but for their size. There is a great vid on here showing one doing a demo for the carrier group, going supersonic. Absolutely badass

U S Marine Captain Rand McNally Atlas crash lands on USS Ranger Credit Jamieooh Edit Serpa6 This carrier was bobbing badly if you look, you can see the tower of a destroyer close in i guess for emergency ejection going up and down I have worked on these towers in a shipyard and your looking at about 60-70 feet high depending on the ship and its class, he has no choice to land with one of his landing gear up and stores intact the story below: During a storm in the Indian Ocean, Atlas was down one set of landing gear. The rest of the squadron went and landed on a nearby island due to the storm, Atlas, had to dump his fuel and had one chance to land into the net. This is a great tribute to Bug Roach (Bug can be heard on the audio calmly talking the pilot down to the aircraft carrier) and his contribution to Naval Aviation. Footage is from March 9, 1991
