I read something that said heat can cause a chopper to lose lift, British Apaches fought it daily in Bastion. Could have also aided in this bird's demise.

I like how the dudes filming in the hummer don't even give the crew, and other people running for safety a lift. They just cruise just out of their reach.

Going to agree with Zato on this one. The Helicopter took off too heavy, tried to get some height so they could nose over for airspeed and sank right into the dirt. No sounds of compressor stalls which would lead me to believe a badly worn out engine or an engine failure. Had something like this happen to my Blackhawk way up in the mountains. Too heavy for our altitude. Smacked right hard into a pinnacle landing and fucked my lower back up when my seat stroked.

I don't know, but it looks like that hunk of shit was taking off and failed to get any lift.

So weird...the fuselage looks to be 90* from the ground, while the rotor mast looks to be tilted to about 60* unless that's just video quality distorting it....

i founs some infos, digg around if u need more:

Two polish chopper were returning to base after combat mission. One of them had to land emergently, none of four members of crew were injured. Officialy strong crosswind was the cause, but it's more probable that worn out engine was it. Self-reliant Air-Task Group from Polish Contingent keeps to conduct recon-combat flights and supporting land troops.
---
Polish film showing a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. Recording contradicts the official Communication, rendered after the accident. "The helicopter was lightly damaged" - the military reported. On the record shows that the machine is crushed. Until the crash occurred June 12. In an official statement after the crash of the Armed Forces Operational Command reported that the pilot sat alone machine, or even "picked a place to land, ensure the safety of the crew and soldiers Base Warrior."
