That's rare to see a UH-60 "L" model fulfilling the MEDEVAC role.

As I understood it the US military has 'casevac' where an armed chopper with US medics on board does the evacuating from particularly hot zones whereas 'medevac' is with unarmed choppers, red crosses et al. Am I right, or is this a product of rapidly aging mind??!!

weapons take room and add weight. plus they are never alone, all helicopters fly in pairs.

And your point is? I don't claim to be an expert on modern day plates -- never worn them. But of course loads of stuff can go through plates....thankfully, in this case it did not!

plenty of things will go threw plate, in fact i don't know why people all claim to be experts. i have seen people killed where the plate stopped the jacket and stripped the round and the core kept going.

1 minute on the ground.... outstanding. Sounds like the CASEVAC is going to be ok. The Plate lacerated his chest, but stopped the bullet.

Fantastic couple of clips. The confusion of battle, useless ANA, calm commander, textbook medevac. Well done guys. I'm sure the casualty will be okay, the bullet didn't get through the plate. He would have got a hell of a wack and some crud in there, but definitely surviveable once on the table.
