Thanks bgbllbffr, but not so rare. And it's been a long time. I can hardly keep up with the changes in the fleet nowadays. The state of the art 31 yrs ago (when I got out), are now being decommissioned. Cool video, although this isn't a U.S. frigate.

Ah, surface submarine! It's kinda adventurous the first couple of times. After a couple of years though, you realize that you just don't get much work done. My buddies on smallboys, the old destroyers and frigates, told me that if you're not on watch you pretty much stayed in your rack. My ammo ship was 564 ft long, 81 ft wide with a flat bottom, and we took up to 49-50 degree rolls a few times. All kinds of shit breaks loose, and you can't get enough tiedowns on some equipment, like forklifts. It ain't fun to be chasing shit across the deck trying to get it secured after breaking loose. And even a lot of old timers walk around carrying a coffee can for a barf bucket. It's just not this bad very often. A couple years on sea duty and you're bound to see it though.
