3 Marines die in Afghanistan

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Two Camp Pendleton-based Marines and a Marine from Camp Lejeune, N.C., were killed during combat operations in separate incidents in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, Defense Department officials announced Monday.
Sgt. Joseph D. Caskey, 24, of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Saturday, officials said in a news release. Caskey was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, with the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.
Cpl. Daane A. Deboer, 24, died Friday. Deboer was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, at Camp Pendleton.
Lance Cpl. William T. Richard, 20, of Trenton, Ga., died Saturday. Richards was a member of 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, at Camp Lejeune.
