6/29/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations June 28, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan

Close-Air Support

Asmar
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews released multiple precision-guided munitions against enemy targets. The engagements were declared successful.

Bastion
Coalition operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The operators fired a rocket to eliminate an enemy threat. Ground controllers declared the engagement successful.

Asadabad
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots and an Air Force B-1B aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The F-16 pilots conducted shows of force, with flares launched, to deter enemy activity. The B-1B aircrew released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets. The engagements were declared successful.

Tirgari

Shurakian
