An Israeli naval patrol claims to have killed at least four Palestinian commando divers off the Gaza coast.

"An Israeli naval patrol spotted a boat with four men in diving suits on their way to carry out a terror attack and fired at them," said an Israeli (http://www.witnessgaza.com/) military spokesman.
Palestinian witnesses said they saw Israeli helicopters and naval forces firing on a vessel off the coast south of Gaza City.
In a message sent to reporters in Gaza, Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades,a violent offshoot of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction, said the four men killed were members of its marine unit who were training in Gaza's waters.
Israeli media has reported that the latest raid was carried out by the same military unit that boarded the Gaza flotilla (http://www.witnessgaza.com/) last week.
That bungled operation left nine dead after armed Israeli soldiers were attacked by activists while boarding the ship.
Another attempt by activists to break the blockade on Saturday, this time on the Rachel Corrie aid ship, was also stopped by Israeli security forces.
All 19 activists and crew have now been deported, Israeli immigration officials have confirmed.
The Gaza Strip has been under a tight blockade since 2006.

700,000 people non Jewish occupied what is now Israel and have been forcibly evicted, killed, Imprisoned or contained within the last 60 years. I accept that some Jews remained in the area and had lived there for some 4000 years but the majority of the indigenous population were what we refer to as Arabs or colloquially as Palestinians perhaps.
The Jewish settlements on Occupied land in East Jerusalem provoke much of what occurs. If Israel is the mature state it claims to be it, should act responsibly and remove these settlements and accept Palestine as a nation state. If after giving a little hostilities continue Israel could only then legitimately claim self defence. The Bulk on the casualties in these conflicts are not Israeli Civilians. All human life is precious treat the Palestinian people with respect and accord them recognition and build a peaceful future if you can do this you will have come of age.

Fishman68- So are you saying it is inappropriate to point out what was said on the audio track because it might put more doubt on the claims that these people were just activists?

The radio exchange from the IHH flotilla of peace (haha) doesn't exactly help your case:
IDF - This is the Israeli Navy. You are approaching an area which is under a naval blockade.
IHH - Shut up, go back to Auschwitz.
IDF - We have permission from the Gaza Port Authority to enter.
IHH -We're helping Arabs go against the US, don't forget 9/11 guys.

According to the BBC that the 4 Palestinians were killed at dawn on Monday shot dead by Israeli gunboats off the coast of central Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian medical sources said that the dead were killed by Israeli gunfire off the coast of refugee camp in central Gaza Strip. Witnesses said residents of the area said they heard intense gunfire and explosions.
Our correspondent says that Reagent Shahdi was notable that the dead were wearing uniforms of the diving raises the possibility of being militants, especially while they were on board a small boat for fishing at sea. This raises the possibility that they were on their way to carry out an attack on the Israeli boats.
The army spokesman confirmed that the Israeli navy patrol boats spotted on board several men dressed in diving uniforms who were on their way "to launch a terrorist attack," he said.

The radio exchange from the IHH flotilla of peace (haha) doesn't exactly help your case:
IDF - This is the Israeli Navy. You are approaching an area which is under a naval blockade.
IHH - Shut up, go back to Auschwitz.
IDF - We have permission from the Gaza Port Authority to enter.
IHH -We're helping Arabs go against the US, don't forget 9/11 guys.

According to the BBC that the 4 Palestinians were killed at dawn on Monday shot dead by Israeli gunboats off the coast of central Gaza Strip.
