New York Times: Washington expanded its military secret in the Middle East

http://wscdn.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/assets/images/2010/05/25/100525043054__226x170.jpg Gen. David Petraeus

The new York Times, citing military officials and military documents that General David Petraeus, commanding general of U.S. Central Command, is to expand covert operations aimed at dismantling the armed groups and face the source of the threat in the Middle East.
And authorize the dissemination and signed Petraeus last September to send units of U.S. special forces to work in friendly nations and the enemy of the United States both in the Middle East, Central Asia and Horn of Africa to gather information and build relationships with local forces in these countries.
Officials say that the circular also allows to collect the necessary information for a possible attack on Iran in the event of escalated tensions surrounding nuclear defiance.
While the administration of President George W. Bush has ratified to do some covert operations out of theaters actual military operations, it will be the new order would legitimize this kind of processes and organization.
A goal of these operations building networks able to "penetrate and undermine and defeat and destroy" al-Qaeda and other militant organizations, and "prepare the atmosphere" for future military strikes carried out by U.S. forces or local communities.
But this does not entitle to carry out attacks in any country, it seems.
This means the order issued by Gen. Petraeus said the small teams of U.S. military personnel to collect information on "terrorist" organizations and other sources of threats in the Middle East and other regions, especially those who are planning to carry out attacks against the United States.
But some Pentagon officials expressed concern about the risks that may result in this new role, Operations which was mentioned it could lead to tension in U.S. relations with some countries - like Saudi Arabia and Yemen - which could allow for the Americans to implement, but may hesitate to very recognition - or would anger other countries - such as Syria and Iran.
Also fear a lot of soldiers, lead by the U.S. military had played a far cry from the traditional combat roles to be treated as spies and denied equal protection guaranteed by the Geneva Conventions in the event of falling families, according to the newspaper

One of the first signs of trouble, strief and war all through the passage of time is,
when the spy's go out. Sadly what happens with that Intel,
is down to the quality of the commander.
