Body of Abu Dhabi sheikh found in Moroccan lake

A search party has found the body of a member of Abu Dhabi's ruling family after his glider crashed in Morocco.

Rescuers had searched a lake south of Rabat for Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed al-Nahayan for four days.

The Spanish pilot of the glider survived the crash and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Sheikh Ahmed, a younger brother of Abu Dhabi's ruler, managed what is thought to be the world's biggest sovereign wealth fund.

He was ranked No 27 on Forbes's list of the world's most powerful people last year.

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is believed to have assets of around $500-$700bn, including a stake in Britain's Gatwick airport and residential property in major cities, Reuters news agency reports.

Although he was a brother of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, who as well as ruling Abu Dhabi heads the UAE, Sheikh Ahmed was not immediately in line for the succession.
