Afghan cop emptied gun and only hit me 6 times... thank God

A SOLDIER who saw five comrades gunned down by a rogue Afghan cop told for the first time how he survived - despite being shot SIX times.

Lance Corporal Liam Culverhouse played dead after the maniac unloaded his magazine into him.
He said: "He only managed to hit me six times. Thank God. I'm lucky - very lucky."

He was part of a 16-strong group mentoring the Afghan police. But a recruit, secretly in the Taliban, went on the rampage last November.

Regimental Sergeant Major Darren Chant, 40, Sergeant Matthew Telford, 37, and Guardsman Jimmy Major, 18, of the Grenadier Guards, died alongside Acting Corporal Steven Boote, 22, and Corporal Nicholas Webster-Smith, 24, of the Royal Military Police.

In their first interview, some of six injured Brits told how the gunman paced through the compound in Nad-e-Ali, gunning down unarmed troops with his AK47.
L/Cpl Culverhouse - who was hit in the eye - said: "I remember getting hit in the face.

"He unloaded a magazine and only managed to hit me six times. Thank God.
"When I was playing dead, I was thinking, 'He's gonna shoot me again'.

"But he didn't. I'm lucky - very lucky indeed."
Guardsman Pete "Treacle" Lyons said: "I caught a bullet in the hand. You know it's luck of the draw if it's you or not."
Guardsman Steve Loader said: "I've never seen so much blood. I don't know how we managed to get out."
The killer has never been caught.
The wounded were flown to Britain in an RAF C17 "flying ambulance".
Their stories are shown on Cutting Edge: The Air Hospital on Channel 4 at 9pm tonight.

As an Ex Guardsman it pisses me off to read this.....it's one thing getting shot in battle it's another to be taken out by some back stabbing coward........no doubt the guys in 22 SAS will catch up with him one day and end his miserable life. I hope they decide it best to take their time in doing so. I have no desire to see his face on the news, just a brief sentence of his passing trying to escape capture.
