I have to say Fireworks can be pretty freaking dangerous.

I remember when I was a kid we used to do FULL out street fireworks in Rosedale, Queens NY. It would get SO HECTIC. I can't even believe how many times I had some form of flying firework come straight for me. In fact I recall just a time when I ducked and dodged a firework going straight for my my head. The big party finally ended one summer when someone went up to a faulty firework and caught what seemed like a bottle rocket straight in the eye. Lets just say that eye is gone and the street was covered in blood, I was real young. Now public fireworks displays are outlawed in NY I believe as my father doesn't even sell them on the 4th. You have to have some form of a permit to purchase and display.

I came to this neighborhood in South Florida last year and my neighbor put on his annual show. Some kid on another block went out and blew off 3 of his fingers. I asked about the show this year and nothing went on so I went to the bayside mall.
