First the planes start up and taxi to the runway and takeoff. Next the meet a KC-135 Tanker and fill up. They then procced to there targets and are greeted by SAM fire. They escape and again reful. They fly deep into North Vietnam and stike industrail buildings. They recieve heavy AA fire but manage to do some damage. They turn for home when the spot some MIG-17s. Great video of the "Thud". Largest single engine fighter at 50,000 pounds.

The thud all though being the only U.S. aircraft to ever be pulled from combat due to it's extremely high loss rate saved a lot of airmen from SAM's when they refitted them to start their Wild Weasel campaign to eliminate as many SAM sites as they could find. It was one mean looking jet.
