Ch-47's are I believe the fastest helos we have in service so why not convert a bunch into AH-47's for the 160th Night Stalkers to use when entering a hostel LZ. Since they can get on the seen faster then Apaches they should equip them with a nose mounted cannon either the AH-1Z Cobras cannon or the AH-64's cannon then putt stub wings on it for missiles and rockets. Next every door or opening where gunners normally shoot m240's or .50 cals from and replace those guns with GAU-19's .50 cal mini guns. Another cannon should be mounted near the rear if possible like the front mounted cannons. Also add more redundancy so every cable,hose,wire, and line has at least three of each. Then armor the entire helo and all cables,wiring, lines, and hoses to protect against small arms fire up to .50 cal rounds. Then operation red wing wouldn't of had such a horrible outcome probably. This type of AH-47 helo could hold all the ammo and guns plus all the redundancy and armor because it won't carry troops it would just be a quick response attack helo to get to the battle faster and clear the way for the normal helos to come in and deploy or pickup troops.
