This is one of my favorite songs since my fathers side of the family are from Ireland and my mothers side was from Bohemia which used to be in parts of modern day Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, and I think Hungary. ACer's you should look into the story of why the song was made it's a sad but proud story of the singer who wrote the song about his grandfather or great grandfather who died in the Great War, WWI and what he thought his great or grandfather was thinking while dying on the ground in no mans land after being shot while trying to save his friends lives.

Amen... pulls on my Irish and Scottish heritage. So proud to be Canadian, and so thankful for all of those have, are and will be making such grand sacrifices for my freedoms. May God watch over their resting souls.
