http://www.autos.com/aftermarket-parts/how-a-high-flow-catalytic-converter-increases-engine-performance. shatto I have been In the industry for 25 years and are An L1 ASE certified tech. The cats whole purpose is to convert/reduce ozone unfriendly gasses that come out of the tailpipe,
the Ecm has a o2 sensor in front and behind the cats to monitor weather they are working or not as far as I know they affect In No way In the fuel ratio being delivered to the engine. But hear lately I have ran Into a few codes dealing with post cat fuel but have not had A chance To research It yet. What Is the scenario you are contemplating? What Are you thinking About putting one of these on? Or Are you just wondering?

The reason I asked was because the code causing the Check Engine light is being caused by a left bank cat that is dieing from eating 250,000 miles of severe oil consumption from the engine I had to replace.
Dex says to cover the light with a business card and ignore it until the truck fails smog.
Thanks for confirming what I thought about the replacement.
