Dear Editor,
For consideration;
This Veterans Day, we remember that freedom isn't free.
As President Harry S. Truman once said, "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices."
A "thank-you for your service" is like a saber to the heart and only someone who has served can know how deeply we appreciate that simple acknowledgement.
That is much more than the 'Nam' era Vets got.
Of course, if America really wanted to honor Veterans....
We don't want much; just the medical we earned, the schooling we earned and other benefits due without the infernal red-tape, excuses and deliberate stalling until the 'Agent Orange' and 'Gulf War Syndrome' sufferers die.
