This is the second pass from the previous engagement
(Dad,Mom,Son) Dad wouldn't give up until a flechette rocket brought him to his
knees. This entire engagement lasted nearly 7 hours from start to finish. To
include every second of every video just to satisfy the
"Anti-American" position isn't going to happen.http://www.apacheclips.com/boards/vbtube/images/play_thread.png (http://www.apacheclips.com/boards/vbtube_show.php?tubeid=4233)

Big P, I don't think those were Flechettes... looked like a straight line of 30mm to me. They were so close that if they were flechettes they would have torn him apart.

@Junctiontwo this distance would be around 800 meters when one watches these type Ah-64 or simaliar you can see in the bottom left corner right next to TADS a constantly varing number that is usually distance to target the box you see with a square moving around the circle is the designated target and the aircraft in relation. Square being the aircraft and the circle being the target.

Very nasty serpa6, roughly 8,000 darts in a 105 round I believe. These date back to the 1300's I think we best put these to use Repelling Nva mass infantry attacks on fire bases in Vietnam, many fire bases were kept from being overrun because of these nasty weapons nicknamed "Bee Hive" rounds

Yup. Flechette's are bad, love the video. Dunno about anybody else but if it were me being fired on I would play dead. Very dead. "Hope they think I am dead, stop shooting at me and fly away" kind of dead.

Well, cannister rounds are a bit different but if you get hit with either you are done. Fleschette rounds are more dart like than cannister, but arguing about it is pointless. I prefer to watch some in action.. Cannister round anybody? If you want to know how effective/nasty cannister is check out the video at 1:18. Even syrian's couldn't miss with that...

Re the bee hive rounds mentioned by RHNTZ, we used them in M79's in Vietnam in the 60's. They were quite effective.....
