I heard a podcast with Marcus Luttrell on it talking about the movie very early in production, he was already a bit pissed at how they hollywooded some things about the story.

I was watching something from the smithsonian channel about the rescue. It was about the Army Reserve aircrew that did the pickup on this one and I literally have no idea how the guys landed where they did. Here is a teaser, I haven't been able to find the full thing anywhere. If you can find the full thing, I would fully recommend it, they do an awesome job with the production. When I say teaser I really mean it, it stops just when it starts to get deep into the story.

I saw that whole thing... I forget what show it was but it was nuts... the reserve went in cuz the initial seal/ranger rescue team was taken out in a Chinook (largest Spec ops single loss). Apparently the pilot had less than 1 foot of space on the cliff edge.
I really want to see this movie but I'm afraid to... I'm sure they have screwed the story some way. I wish Hollywood would just tell it like it is for once.

I've recently seen this movie. I enjoyed it, it's a solid 6.5/10 for me.
