The S-300 is a apparently a famed SAM anti aircraft, anti ballistic missile system. This same system shot down a U-2 Dragonlady over Cuba and an additional U-2 over Russia. Also was a large threat and shot down several bombers in Vietnam. Also proved to be hell for the Israelis in the 7 day war. This is one of the only threats NATO bombers have faced for a long time. As for the video god damn I bet the drivers were shitting themselves those things are fuckin huge and MOVE!! Good thing the self destruct worked I was starting to wonder if it had one!

I was wondering the same thing... took a hell of a long time to blow... I think i'd be looking for some cover based on how high that thing was when it blew.

@Chapawolf
How s-300 could have shot down several bombers in Vietnam if it wasn't even developed at that time?

@MadeInRu
I think @Chapawolf want to say that the S300 was base on the SAM missiles of the 60s and 70s used during the Viet Nam war

Wrong, SAM 2 and SAM 3 dude. S300 is a different animal all together. Read the below.

OK I read again what I was referring to and I was wrong the S-300 designed based on other SAM missiles like the s-175, s-125, s-200. I will quote the Encyclopedia Astronautica "Beginning with his 32B alternate to the S-25, Grushin developed a series of missiles that were the bane of American and Israeli pilots during the cold war - the S-75 (SA-2 and SA-N-2 Guideline), S-125 (SA-3 and SA-N-1 Goa), S-200."
