I did an exercise similar to this at Fort Polk, with a downed Pilot for extraction. We had A-10's as well. It was a successful extraction. And a lot of fun!

the only time i had experience with medivac was on a tactical training, some idiot forgot to clear his 60 at the range put the barrel on his foot and it went off. We got the call over the radio and we called in a bird the only thing available was a little bird to land at our message center in the field and the mobile ambulance pulled up with medics and they evacuated him. He recovered lucky he did not lose his leg Hats off to these guys they get there fast, the response time was less the 10 min
