Rendezvous is held every two years in conjunction with the Regimental change of command. The four-day event includes a Ranger capabilities demonstration and an airborne operation, a stress shoot and team building sporting events including boxing and combatives, an Endurathon (similar to the Best Ranger Competition), tug-of-war, football, and softball.

All Ranger Rendezvous events are open to the public.
Traditionally, all available Rangers from the Regimental Headquarters and the four Ranger battalions attend Ranger Rendezvous. In addition to the Regimental Headquarters, Regimental Special Troops Battalion and 3rd Battalion at Fort Benning, Ga., 1st Battalion is at Hunter Army Airfield near Savannah, Ga., and 2nd Battalion is at Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma, Wash. Family members and Ranger veterans from all generations also attend. Due to combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, one Rifle Battalion and elements of RSTB will not be in attendance this year. Past years' attendance has exceeded 10,000 visitors, family members and Rangers from all eras.
The 75th Ranger Regiment has had Rangers continuously deployed since October 2001. This event is traditionally a time to bring all Rangers together for a short time to build unit cohesion between geographically separated battalions. Although all Ranger may not be able to attend the event this year, it is important to keep the tradition alive for those not currently deployed to maintain the esprit de corps.
WHAT CAN SOMEONE EXPECT TO SEE DURING RANGER RENDEZVOUS?
There are three days that afford the public an opportunity to observe the Rangers in action.
On July 22, a Ranger Capabilities Demonstration and mass tactical airborne operation with more than 1,000 Rangers jumping from Air Force aircraft takes place on Fryar Drop Zone.
On July 24, features day-long sporting events including boxing and combatives, tug-of-war, football, basketball, and softball.
The full slate of activities concludes on July 25 with a formal change of command ceremony at 9 a.m. on Soldiers Field at the National Infantry Museum for the 75th Ranger Regiment. This year, the reins of command pass from Col. Mark Odom, who assumed command July 28, 2011 to Col. Christopher Vanek. Col. Vanek is the former Deputy Commanding Officer of the 75th Ranger Regiment and recently graduated from the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island.
