It seems to be the big thing now to make up a courageous military history. Was this the case during Vietnam? It seems the Vietnam era posed a far more negative era about war. People were perhaps not as patriotic, and soldiers were not paraded as heroes. Being that these times are different look at the tremendous amount of frauds. What other examples can we share? From petty to large, there are so many stories like this. Linked below is one..

Bob if you don't mind, what was the Vietnam era like when it came to respect for soldiering?

Disgusting. I hope they make an example of him. His actions are a slap in the face for our men and women serving now, and all veterans.

The only faker I ran into was in Watertown Ny, He was in the Army said he went to Afghanistan but was caught in a lie when my friend Mike called him on it. All he was after was free beer.

Fuck the hippies, man. Babykiller, my fucking ass.

What particularly annoys me about protests, in general, is that half of the cocksuckers don't even know why they're protesting it. They're just doing it because, "it's what you're supposed to do". And then you've got the other half. The ones that know why they're there. But they just need to get their fucking facts straight.

If they want to bitch about it, and call someone else out on something that "they think happened", they can go over there themselves, and see firsthand. But of course that's not going to happen...

Well I wasn't there but as sparkie said he got spit on and yes Nico that did happen not just in movies, I have seen tapes of it happening at an airport as well as the guys having red paint on them to simulate blood. When the paint was thrown a girl yelled baby killer. I have an Uncle who was told as soon as he landed at an airport(I think it was San Fransisco ) to take his uniform off as a soon as he landed or he was going to have shit thrown at him. This is one (of many)reasons Vietnam vet's have a special place for me

As a Vietnam Veteran, may I relay of my experience upon returning from Vietnam (1969). Leaving Travis AF Base (if I remember the Base correctly), we took a taxi to San Francisco to catch a flight to our various homes. Upon arrival at the airport, we were escorted to and through a construction type barrier that was walled up on the side facing the protestors to shield us from their actions and insults.

Go to my "Iraq Album" and scroll down to the two pictures (#10 & #12 of page #1) that I posted of our return home from Iraq and see the difference between the reception of our Troops returning from Vietnam vs. Iraq.

Marines never killed babies,,,,,unless we were real hungry.

In San Diego the 'Gauntlet' was as you came outta baggage claim. No avoiding it.
I felt duty bound not to hurt the fuckers,,,not sure why. Nowadays I might act a little differently.
I have not forgiven,,,,,,,,,
I think those shitbags are running our country now.
