I would love to "give peace a chance". I like peace. No, I LOVE peace.
But there are evil people out there in the world that DON'T. These are the ones who drive us to the horror, the wholesale slaughter that we call "war".
Even the Bible tells us that we will fight and war against each other until the end of days.
I wish it were not so. I wish that everyone in the world could live their lives free of the fear of death coming to them in a bomb, or at the end of a rifle.
But, I live in the real world.
