Great vid, but I agree with laxaddict992. He was being kind of a dick IMO. Relax and let your SAW gunner do his job.

U never know, maybe SL save some life with his voice up, couse by the video, its look like that SAW gunner take a brake for lunch in the middle of the fight. And if its anybody in the team, its SAW gunner who should never get off his weapon!

Squad leader was doing his job, as I could see. No place for being nice...men you know that...

True he was doing his job but his gunner could not hear his command The way you talk you have been in battle i have only been on ranges and its deafining when some one fire close to your head out of 15 lanes at least 6 weapons went off at the same time when i was collecting brass from my lane it made me deaf long enough

As for the team leader being loud... ensuring that your orders and being heard when you have ear plugs in takes a little getting used to. Let alone during a firefight.

You don't "Command Respect" by being nice. NCO's aren't paid to be nice. Delegate your authority or micromanage it. What ever the situation calls for. Take charge and make shit happen and lead by example. << prop's to the team lead for knowing instantly what needed to be done and ensuring that it was happening... TIME NOW!! :P

This situation called for a little micromanagement because the AR men seemed to have forgotten (for a sec) what it is that AR gunners are for. Suppression!!

And it's no ones fault except the AR gunner for not having his ear protection in. Lesson learned I'm sure.

Nice Post bu187

Consequences in direct proportion for not having put his ear protection in. Sometimes privates or E-4's and under, need to learn the hard way sometimes. I'll take ringing in my ears for 2 days versus having a Team Lead that doesn't know when to take immediate action.

I went through 3 mags on my 203 one time, without ear protection, because I made the critical mistake of not doing a proper equipment check before heading out to our LP/OP. Not only was I 80% deaf for about 4 days, but I had to improvise and insert paper spit balls for 5 days. SMARTS :P

Hearing protection is a must have that dork should have known that I personally have lost my hearing completely for 2 days because of small arms fire. You never know what you got till its gone or whatever.
