I see a few M113. they got replaced by the Stryker right?

Actually the Bradley was the replacement for the m113 starting in 1981. The m106 mortar carrier is what you see here obviously a variant of the m113 has been in service since after the Vietnam war In 2005 they put into service the first strykers with mortars mounted in them but I am sure you will still see the m106 for years to come.

You guys never pre-dug the hole for the base plate? Yeah, it can bury itself eventually but... Too much adjustment from shot to shot.
