I do not think this was ever posted before, they push her to her limits. I have seen the tomcat in demo flights on clear days with no wind. I saw several of these birds live at airshows over the years.... Sad to see them go....

They weren't pushing it. A big beast of a plane, and amazing to see what one could really do. If you are one of us lucky enough to geta show out to sea, the Tomcat is capable of much tighter maneuvering than could be shown at a CONUS airshow. My old Bluejackets Manual (equivalent to the Handbook for Marines), listed Tomcats at max catapult weight of 70,000 lbs. For such a large, heavy fighter, amazingly nimble. Not an F-16 mind you, but for their size. There is a great vid on here showing one doing a demo for the carrier group, going supersonic. Absolutely badass
