I guarantee you this is raw top gun footage. As a kid (to this day) I know the movie line for line, scene for scene. The painted F-5 (as seen taxiing on the tarmac) is supposed to be enemy "Mig-28's" which don't exists. The makers of top gun used the F-5 for this fictitious aircraft. There are a couple scenes that are unedited (can tell by lighting) that are directly from the movie. However, since the Mig's in the story were fought at sea, a lot of this footage could not be used. It would appear that some of the choreographer maneuvers were repeated with the A-4's as battles with the instructors of Top Gun. i say this because some of the background and maneuvers seen in this clip are in the actual movie, only with the A-4 rather than the "Mig"/F-5

@ Goby thank you for that info. Never seen speed and angles, is that documentary channel you seen it on in the US? If so what channel and why no moderator?

I actually stumbled upon it on YouTube a couple of years ago, but it's been taken down since. It's worth $10 or $15 for the blu-ray on amazon, definitely worth it, though you can probably find it elsewhere online.
