Reports: Ex-SEAL Kyle fatally shot on gun range

GLEN ROSE, Texas (AP) — A Texas sheriff has told local newspapers that author and former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle has been fatally shot along with another man on a gun range.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Stephenville Empire-Tribune report that Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant says the 38-year-old Kyle and a second man were found dead Saturday afternoon at Rough Creek Lodge's shooting range west of Glen Rose.

The Star-Telegram reports that witnesses told sheriff's investigators a gunman opened fire on the men, then fled in a pickup truck belonging to one of the victims. Glen Rose is about an hour southwest of Fort Worth.

The newspapers say a 25-year-old man was later taken into custody in Lancaster, southeast of Dallas. The motive is unclear.

Kyle wrote the best-selling book, "American Sniper."

The shooter was "25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh of Lancaster [and] was arraigned Saturday evening on two counts of capital murder."
Kyle and the other man took Routh (who was a fellow veteran) to the range to try and help Routh deal with PTSD. As of now the motive for the shooting is unclear. ...... Chris Kyle was a ture red white and blue American Hero. All the proceeds from his book 'American Sniper' went to help the families of the soldiers he served with that didn't make it back.

This is a real tragedy. Lets keep Kyle's family and friends in our prayers. A man who spent his life in service to his country with valor and courage. And to the prick that shot him lets hope he gets the help he needs in the form of a swift execution and very cheap burial.
