I don't think this is real.

I don't really see people taking the hassle to put a camera, a very early XXth century camera that is, in the middle of a battlefield.

Plus there is absolutely no shaking when explosions go off a few feet from the camera, almost no soldier dies or even frets.

This must be one of these very early movies made not long after the end of the war which indeed look very realistic.

Yes Lax, I was thinking the same thing, or mabey on a building or a vehicle, perhaps. It dont have to be a cameraman, or maybe it does.
Were the movie cameras back the the ones that You would have to constantly crank while filming, therefore requireing a camera man?
Either way , pretty cool though.

it is never real, such masses of infantry regardless of which country, would have been cut to piece by machine guns.
