reporter for France 24, during a firefight between FARC and Colombian
troops carrying out an anti-drug raid in Caqueta, a rebel-stronghold in
the south.

After being surrounded and just before being captured, the French
journalist (shot in the arm) was able to hide the memory card of the
camera.

Four soldiers and a police official were killed during the firefight.
Another six officials were injured, with few others captured.http://www.apacheclips.com/boards/vbtube/images/play_thread.png (http://www.apacheclips.com/boards/vbtube_show.php?tubeid=1917)

Columbia and Brazil have the lowest or 2nd lowest guns to people ratio per capita in the whole world but they have the highest or 2nd highest death by gun rate in the world. You'll never here that out of socialists or leftist people and especially not from president Obama. Although president Obama wants an assault rifle, and extended magazine ban because he thinks if those bans were in place none of the death caused by that lone nut would of happened in that school the other day. When facts prove otherwise. :USA: RIP to those killed :USA:

That journalist did exactly as he aught to, he is not there to fight the war he is there to report on it. Its through his actions that you are able to see these images today, this is journalism if he would have wanted to be a soldier he would have picked that profession. Also it is very dangerous for any journalist in that situation to pick up weapons as it endangers every other journalist within that war zone and would make journalists a specific target since it portrays them as combatant, even though journalism as a whole in conflict areas is already a dangerous profession since often times they are targeted anyways actions such as the one you are suggesting mcgettigan would just make things that much worst.

He put the memory card in his wallet, his prison wallet. The FARC wern't looking real good out there. You don't need an M-60 to burn down a squad you can plainly see walking on the hillside. None of these fools seemed to be shooting back? You never know unless you try right!?
