for me the best soldiers in the world.

Sorry for you marine, but I think to have often fought with them

They are a tough lot. I fought beside them in Beruit when I was an active Marine. very professional and no nonsense. But they sure know how to have a good time on R -N- R. Worst hangover I ever had.....

If I knew French, I would honestly cash in my bank account and fly to Marseille and enlist. They're basically like the 75th Rangers. Always deploying and getting to see awesome things.

You don't need to know French, you will "pick it up" as you go along via certain incentives.

@MickDonalds - you don't need to know French, they will teach you. What they want is good, dedicated, tough soldiers. You need to be willing to give 5 years and those will be very tough years, very little leave, little freedom and total dedication. Still interested? http://www.legion-recrute.com/en/

I've already put in 10 years for the US Army, have accomplished a great deal and have earned my rank. No point in stopping where I'm at now.

I should have flown to Marseilles when I was 19 and tried out then.

Unfortunately prior experience doesn't mean squat...you will however become fully acquainted with the Balais et Serpilliere to the point of being an expert!
