Love this stuff!
What sort of distance would this be from?

Roughly 1700 meters if I had to guess (based on speed of AGM -114 at 425 m/s and time of flight of 4.25 seconds subtracting some time for upward arch of missile path)

No guns available?
A pair of hellfires are not cheap, especially to get only 2 guys and a mortar tube.

What else are they gonna use it on? not like there are any tanks or such to destroy might as well use them on personal, why do you care what it costs.

First hellfire was worth the shot, two enemy KIA. The second was a friggin bad decision. 1 hellfire for a probably already destroyed mortar tube. What, 100k for a more then likely broke 100 dollar item?
Just add it onto the tax payer, we can cut grandma off her pills for a month to pay for that.

Right on atrox.
Fucking hell folks. Instead of whinging about the cost of killing two Tangos, whinge about WTF we were doing there in the first place.
That would have saved even more money and quite a few lives.
Do not judge our forces by how much money they cost and ordnance they choose to use. It's their call not some fucking accountant's. Pounds and dollars fade into utter insignificance when it comes to our boys.
Out. Rant over. Reaching for the Happy Pills.

no matter how many you Americans kill, if you keep giving 15.000 dollars to every single family complaining of an aunt dying in a collateral, you keep givin the tangos money for RPGs.

I know that the Hellfire being used as a standoff weapon so the rags can't hear the Apache is one thing. That's OK in my mind where you want to limit the collateral damage that a 30mm run would do. But why not use 2.75 HE on the tube? I KNOW our pilots can put those suckers right on target.

Once a hellfire or any other missile has been built it is going to be fired (offensively or as a test). They can't be stored indefinitely, the warhead and the rocket propellant both have a "use by" date before becoming too unstable to use.

how is cost a hollywood movie?
Well this short video we are happy to hang out and the pilots did their job very well, but I think it had to use 30mm for the tube.
