I think a little bit of something just dribbled out of me, man that was intense. Have to admit the attraction of war to a young man is compelling, it is noise, light, action, fear, adrenaline and sensory overload all rolled into one, no wonder young people sign up for it and say that life after combat is somehow lacking something. Too bad I am 45 now, would love to get in on this!

@16BNRWAR-At 45yrs old ,You sound like a foolish kid.Your lucky You didnt have the nerve to serve. If You think war is just a glamorous shoot em up, good time then Your dead wrong. Just the anticpation alone of getting fucked up or killed is enough to wreck any man.& having completely heightend senses fulltime dont always mix good with civillian life. I dont see soilders coming back & missing combat, I see them suffering! Some even hurting themselves & hurting others & gettn locked up & commiting suicide. I dont know if You heard but war is hell,! Its not a daydrem adrenaline camp for should a, could a, would a's !! Seeing smelling & breathing war is a duty that has been stowed upon Thee & the things You see & the things You hear & the things You do will be right their with You, no matter .The only thing that Your somehow lacking is that innocent cotentment You once knew

@bgbllbffr - Bravo. Well said. I myself have never served, and while I wish I had, I am thankful I didn't. I wrote a book on PTSD and spent 2 years researching the effects of war and let me say... I respect those who serve and would do anything for them, and at the same time, I feel bad for them because there is no outlet in "modern society". Not ALL are effected the same way, but I'm a firm believe that every serviceman (combat experienced) is wounded, and not all wounds are visible.
