The reason we are still fighting there is because we are not willing to deal with them as we dealt with the Germans or Japanese in WW2. We need to bomb their villages, burn their crops, and completely disarm them. When enough people die so they finally get the idea we are serious they will quit. If we used such tatics and they continued to attack us then we would have an Afghan -free are to occupy and rename.
Our current tactics show a lack of will and resolve such that the Taliban and other jihadists believe they can outlast us...
