ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — Russia on June 20 sentenced two professors from an engineering university to 12½ and 12 years for handing over information about a new intercontinental missile to China, an official said.

“Yevgeny Afanasyev was sentenced to 12½ years for treason, and Svyatoslav Bobyshev to 12 years in a high-security penal colony for complicity in treason,” a court official said.

The men, both professors at the Voyenmekh Baltic State Technical University in St. Petersburg, were arrested in March 2010 on charges of high treason and espionage.

The men were accused of handing over the information on the Bulava, Russia’s latest submarine-launched ballistic missile, to Chinese intelligence.

The intercontinental nuclear-capable missile was developed to replace Russia’s Soviet-era stock. The project suffered numerous failed launches over the past decade but was approved late last year after several successful test firings.

In May, a worker from a Russian weapons plant in the Urals was sentenced to eight years in jail for handing over information on the Bulava project to foreign intelligence.

At present NATO conducts one military operation in Libya. In this operation participate more than 200 aircrafts supported by navy. The whole world is currently discussing the event because of many losses among civilians. But the fact that the NATO does not as active in Libya as in other conflicts, using only tactical group is surprising.
Meanwhile in Baltic region is deploying a strategic group which is working through a large-scale war scenario in Europe. A simple person can see the threat to the European Security. But it is astonishing that mass media and famous Wikileaks do not mention those events.
NATO military exercise in Baltic region Baltic Host – 2011 was supposed to work through the possibilities of Baltic countries in deploying international troops according to the representative of the Estonian Main Staff colonel Ants Kiviselg. The legend of the event was imaginary situation in an imaginary state.
But it is surprising that along with territorial defence forces some civilian Ministries responsible for roads, health, sea and air ports railroad were engaged in this training. Where is the destination point for the NATO troops transportation by the railroad?
Meanwhile two more NATO events of combat operational training took place in Great Britain, Sweden and Baltic water area.
First of them Joint Warrior – 2011 was a combined NATO air and navy training which main aim was to work through the use of air and navy strike forces in order to reconcile a regional dispute. 40 aircrafts, 40 combat ships and more than 6 000 servicemen have participated in the event.
The second one called Viking – 2011 was aimed to apply NATO forces in the imaginary international peacekeeping operation (about 2 000 servicemen).
Altogather it was more than 8 000 servicemen and very large air and navy group. And all those above mentioned events were connected with each other.
It is also very strange that those military events have a close time connection to the destabilisation of situation in the ex-URSS region. It is to mention “color” revolution in some countries as well as terrorist acts in Minsk on the 11th of April 2011.
Currently NATO conducts an operation in Libya (tactical group) and in the same time in the very heart of Europe creates strategic strike force. For the Allied countries this camouflaged strategic exercise is more important, than participation in the international operation in Libya. Although NATO members count well their money. Before Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan operations they have refused to conduct any large-scale exercises because of expenses.
Trying to understand the concept of the above mentioned exercises which are more important than the possibility to capture Libyan oil reserves it is necessary to go back to the years 2008 – 2010...................
