The Israel Air Force recently staged military exercises between Israel and the British colony of Gibraltar near southern Spain, the French magazine L'Express reported on Saturday.

The fact that the drills were held 3,800 kilometers away from Israel "confirms that the Israel Defense Forces is making concrete preparations" to attack Iran over its refusal to cooperate with the international community over its contentious nuclear program, according to L'Express.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman vowed last week that Israel would not attack Iran even if the international sanctions against Tehran fail to convince President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to give up his country's nuclear program, in an interview with the Austrian daily Kleine Zeitung.

But The London Times reported a few weeks ago that the IDF was indeed making preparations to be able to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran's nuclear facilities, to be carried out within days of being given the go-ahead by Israel's government.

"Israel wants to know that if its forces were given the green light they could strike at Iran in a matter of days, even hours. They are making preparations on every level for this eventuality. The message to Iran is that the threat is not just words," one senior Israeli defense official told The Times.

The London Times report appeared to be an Israeli message to Iran conveying its capability and readiness to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.

The report included a nation-wide home front drill, scheduled for June, among what it calls Israel's intensive preparations for the possibility of an attack, aiming to prepare Israel's civilians for the possible consequences of an attack on Iran.

"We would not make the threat [against Iran] without the force to back it. There has been a recent move, a number of on-the-ground preparations, that indicate Israel's willingness to act," another official from Israel's intelligence community told the Times. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1082625.html

Well since Iran seems to think it's the all powerful god on earth, go Israel. I just hope the U.S. stays out of much of this.

Definitely. Although, if the US did assist, we'd make sure that no one knew. CIA Special Activities Division, maybe...

Hopefully the US will take a hands off approach to any attack. Maybe there will be an air traffic control mix up for several hours?

That would be ok i suppose as i know they will definatly get the job done, but i'd rather the US Goverment spent all the money on the war in afghanistan , i like seeing the insurgents getting blown up to smitherines

if Israel did attack Iran, well they will its a matter of time, im pretty sure they will fuck them up.

that is the right on.... screens go blank, "power outage", and the like. i was reading some news and there is speculation that if israel goes back to the two state solution talks, i mean commits to them before an attack, the u.s. administration will support the action. makes sense but trusting a news man political "insight", it could be all hog wash. israel will handle there business regardless

gunny likes handling business.... :drillsergeant:

I wonder what would really happen? Israeli air raid on nuclear facilities. Flight path over Iraq?? Iran has been buying brand new russian air defence systems, dangerous for the Israelis. Even if they could, Iran better not fire scuds over Iraq! Then Iran wages proxy war on Israel from Lebanon (hezbollah) and Syria. Rockets and morters fired into Israel. Prompts Israeli incursion into Lebanon. Hezbollah has new anti tank missiles that killed a lot of Merkavas in the 2006 war, im sure Iran would buy many more of them for Hezbollah. No clear victory in Lebanon. World community (retards) have a shit fit. Israel forced to reign in the troops. and were back to where we started! minus Iranian nukes. Id give the go ahead.
