Some questions about TADS

I noticed that in TADS there is always a little box moving around and shortly before a missile is fired its border changes to stripes and then when the missile is fired it gets very small. So I guess it might have to do with the target aquireing? On the other hand the actual guiding seems to be done with the cross hairs?

I couldn't find much info on the net about all the items on a TADS screen, maybe somebody here can explain in more detail?

Well, i don't fully understand your question, but it's done in 2 ways.

1st. Laser, you keep a cross hair on a target and missile follows it.

2nd, is a heat signature. You keep a cross hair on a target, and software makes sure that heat signature from a rocket is in the middle of that cross hair, in other words, that heat spot, a rocket, should always stay in the crosshair.
