I saw stats a while back showing how a electric car, could never make up for the carbon footprint that it makes; in its production of car itself, battery, and as you point out, the way the battery is charged, etc...
Also what happens when the battery's service expires? It would seem to me to be a big environmental concern on matter of disposal. I mean ... how do you get rid of a really BIG battery.
