Combined operations kill 6, detain 14, seize contraband

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan – Afghan and coalition forces killed six insurgents and detained 14 suspected individuals in eastern Afghanistan during operations over the past 24 hours, Nov. 3.

Afghan National Army soldiers from 201st ANA Corps and coalition forces killed three insurgents during a joint patrol in Watahpur district, Kunar province.

Three insurgents were killed while attempting to assault a coalition force outpost in Nike district, Paktika province. The attack was unsuccessful and no coalition forces were injured.

ANA troops with 4th Kandak, 201st ANA Corps, and coalition forces detained three individual wanted for questioning in Alingar district, Laghman province. They were safely transported to nearby headquarters for questioning.

ANA troops with 3rd Kandak, 203rd ANA Corps, detained an individual wanted for questioning in Andar district, Ghazni province. He was safely transported to nearby headquarters for questioning and identification.

Coalition forces detained another two individuals in Chak district, Wardak province. One was identified as wanted for questioning.

Afghan local police detained three individuals who attempted to kidnap another individual in Bati Kot district, Nangarhar province. ALP safely transported the detainees to local headquarters.

ANA and coalition forces detained three suspects wanted for questioning in Qarghaee district, Laghman province.

Afghan Uniform Police detained two suspected insurgents in Andar district, Ghazni province. The suspects remain in AUP custody.

Afghan Border Police and coalition forces seized 300 gallons of ammonium nitrate in the Mohmand Darah district, Nangarhar province. The seizure occurred during a routine cargo inspection at the Torkham Gate border crossing. The driver fled during the inspection and escaped. AUP has secured the truck and cargo.

Operations in RC-East are still ongoing.
