KABUL, Afghanistan (Oct. 26, 2011) — A combined Afghan and coalition security force captured a Haqqani network leader in Sabari district, Khost province, Tuesday.
The leader distributed roadside bombs and coordinated attacks against Afghan forces in the area. Multiple suspected insurgent were also detained during the operation.

North
In Aliabad district, Kunduz province, a combined Afghan and coalition security force detained two suspected insurgents during an operation in search of a Taliban leader, yesterday. The leader coordinates attacks with other insurgent leaders in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
South
A combined Afghan and coalition security force detained multiple suspected insurgents during an operation in search of a Taliban leader in Marjah district, Helmand province, yesterday. The leader distributes and directs the placement of various victim-initiated improvised explosive devices. While securing the building, one female child was wounded. The security force provided initial treatment at the scene and then transported the child to a coalition medical facility for further care.
East
In Sperah district, Khost province, a combined Afghan and coalition security force detained one suspected insurgent during an operation in search of a Haqqani network leader, yesterday. The leader places roadside bombs and plans small arms attacks in the Sperah district center.
A combined Afghan and coalition security force captured a Taliban leader during a security operation in Sayyidabad district, Wardak province, yesterday. The leader is responsible for the movement of fighters and abductions of Afghan government officials. Two additional suspected insurgents were detained during the operation.
