KABUL, Afghanistan — A combined Afghan and coalition security patrol detained an insurgent during an operation in Lashkar Gah district, Helmand province, yesterday.
The insurgent is an improvised explosive device facilitator responsible for IED attacks against Afghan National Security Forces and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The security force seized one pistol, two AK-47s, 1,000 AK-47 rounds, $6,000 U.S. dollars, and a quantity of communication devices during the operation.
The IED facilitator was taken for processing and further questioning.
