KABUL, Afghanistan (July 8, 2011) – During a search in Muhammad Aghah district, Logar province, a coalition patrol discovered and later destroyed a large weapons cache, yesterday.
The cache consisted of several mortar rounds, a rifle, two rocket propelled grenades, one directional formed charge, 600 heavy machine gun rounds, one light machine gun, 400 feet of detonation cord, fuses, blasting caps, batteries, up to 500 pounds (227 kilograms) of ammonium nitrate, two initiation devices and seven grenades.
