KABUL, Afghanistan (April 13, 2011) – Afghan National Security and International Assistance Security Forces killed numerous insurgents during an operation in Alah Say district, Kapisa province, today.
The combined force received small-arms fire from insurgents in the district. After gaining positive identification, Afghan and coalition forces engaged the enemy position, killing numerous insurgents. No civilian casualties or collateral damage was reported during the operation.


In other ISAF news throughout Afghanistan:


South
Afghan and coalition forces patrols discovered two weapons caches in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province today, consisting of two rocket-propelled grenades, two AK-47 rifles, 500 7.62 mm rounds, 500 12.7 mm rounds, eight empty AK-47 magazines and six 81 mm rounds.



East
An Afghan and coalition forces patrol discovered a weapon cache in Jaghatu district, Wardak province, today, consisting of one anti-tank mine, eight 82 mm rounds, seven rocket fuses and one jug of homemade explosives.
In Nadir Shah Kot district, Khost province, today, an Afghan and coalition forces patrol discovered a weapons cache consisting of 12 rocket-propelled grenade rounds, one RPG launcher and one rifle round.


Also in Khost province, Khost district, today, an ISAF patrol discovered 11 grenades, one AK-47, two magazines, one shotgun and two pounds (0.9 kilograms) of black powder.
