a great soldier, a great guy, a great photojournalist.....
here it s his new photo-book, which needed more backers....
and i thought Nathan selected the best way to ask support for his book
only 20 days left for the project reach it goal pledges, then it will be funded
(http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/344190969/cant-give-this-war-away-photojournalism-from-iraq) The rewards for your pledge are at least as valuable as your contribution. The rewards for success are certainly greater than the overall cost (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/344190969/cant-give-this-war-away-photojournalism-from-iraq).9930 (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/344190969/cant-give-this-war-away-photojournalism-from-iraq)

Can't Give This War Away: An Introduction

My name is Nathan Webster, and I am a freelance photojournalist who has embedded with US soldiers in Iraq several times from 2007-2009.

My work has been published in more than two dozen newspapers nationwide, the Long War Journal, and I was briefly quoted in "The Gamble," by foreign policy expert and Pulitzer Prize-winner Thomas Ricks.
I am a U.S. Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm, and served for five years from 1987-1992. As a civilian journalist, I endeavored to tell the stories of individual soldiers for their hometown newspapers. ....
I hope these historical accounts give a fuller understanding of aspects of the war in Iraq of which you might otherwise have been unaware.
While our soldiers will soon depart Iraq and hand over most military control, we have not given the war away. Our efforts there will resonate for years to come, overseas and here at home.

About this project

Digital camera - $600.
Plane ticket to Kuwait - $1500.
Body Armor and Kevlar helmet - $1800.
Embedding alongside US soldiers at war in Iraq - Priceless.
But...printing a full-color book documenting this time in Iraq, and telling and showing the stories of those soldiers - About as expensive as all combined.
"Can't Give This War Away: Three Iraqi Summers of Change and Conflict" will be a book of photos and essays that document my trips to Iraq from 2007 to 2009.
In other forms, this work has appeared in daily newpapers across the country, such as the Buffalo News, Bakersfield, Ca. Californian, Worcester, Ma. Telegram, and many others (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2001490&id=1347973874&l=49fc2fb04c). The photographs have been displayed in museums (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2048509&id=1347973874&l=37fac0471b) and other venues.
