ISAF forces destroy 1653 pounds of HME in southwest
KABUL, Afghanistan (Nov. 28) – International Security Assistance Forces discovered 1,653 pounds, or 15 50-kilogram bags of homemade explosives, or HME, in Marjah district, Helmand province today.
Coalition forces discovered the HME while responding to an unknown explosion. Once the HME was discovered, an explosive ordinance detachment determined that the HME was altered to make IEDs.
The HME was safely destroyed in place.
