Ever notice how the fatal T is where there is absolutely no protection? Do people not get shot there often enough to care? It'd seem like there'd be some kind of technology for that.

Do you have a suggestion for something that won't impede the soldiers vision and movement? It would be really hard to provide such protection for the face. The IOTV has a neck protector on it. It is made of kevlar. Lots of soldiers don't wear it though because it is uncomfortable and it limits movement if you have a short neck. I personally do not wear the neck protector.

Neck and groin protectors suck.

There are Level IIIA Ballistic Face Masks, However I have never seen them used by the military...just SWAT etc.

^^ looks way more comfortable than mine

My shit used to cut my neck when I'd have my web gear on, especially brutal while riding in a vehicle.

Looks good, you look like a super-hero.

I never wore it while on foot patrol but it rocked while riding around in a vehicle...just tighten it up a bit then rest your chin on it and have a snooze :)

This was my normal version of neck protection :)

Ballistic face shield (flexible - model G3C)
SN: 1249
Light weight ballistic shield, designed for military force.
* Weight: 440 gram

* Simply add or remove by button
* Easily installed on the helmet, no need for special device

How come we don't use this more often? Just seems sensible to me, but then again, im a civillian and don't know much

Looks nice but wouldn't it bobble when you run? And muffle your voice when you speak?

would you rather be shot in the face? Not sure if it would bobble, but if your voice output is a problem, they can always integrate some kind of communications shit in that thing

Looks like it would massively restrict breathing , only ever seen it used by crewman
