A gang member is facing the death penalty after being convicted of killing his brother, two young nephews and three others during a bloody rampage in a Memphis home.
Jurors took less than two hours to convict Jessie Dotson, 35, in one of the city's worst mass killings.
They concluded that Dotson shot and killed his brother Cecil during an argument in 2008 and then went after everyone else in the house with a gun and knife to eliminate witnesses.
Three other children were stabbed, but survived the attack.
One of them, Cecil Dotson Jr - now 11 - was found in a bathtub with a 4.5ins knife blade embedded in his skull. He was a key prosecution witness against his uncle.
The other people killed included four-year-old Cemario Dotson, Cecil Dotson Jr II, two, Cecil Dotson's girlfriend Marissa Williams and friends Hollis Seals and Shindri Robinson.
During testimony, Dotson blamed the attack on other gang members and said he hid under a bed during the killings.
He claimed he did not report them to police out of fear for his own life.
But prosecutors put Cecil Dotson Jr, who was nine at the time of the attack, on the stand and he testified that 'Uncle Junior' shot his father and then attacked him with a knife.
Experienced police officers testifying during the trial said it was one of the most gruesome they had seen.
