Finnish forces come under fire in Afghanistan

Finnish crisis management forces in Afghanistan came under fire again on Monday. The Finnish Defence Forces reported that a Swedish and Finnish patrol were fired at in Samangan Province about 75 kilometres southwest of the city of Aibak.
The patrol took small arms and bazooka fire. Nobody was injured in the incident.

There are fears that the upcoming Parliamentary elections in Afghanistan will lead to increased unrest in the country. The Taleban have threatened to attack polling stations. Finnish forces came under fire several times before last year’s Presidential elections.
